It is amazing to think some windsurfers have traveled the 12 miles across to Lundy Island. Lundy or ‘puffin island is steeped in history and is well worth a visit. One of the boat trips is on the MS Oldenburg that departs from Bideford and Ilfarcombe. If you have ever been to the Maisco night club in Woolacombe it was named after William de Marisco who fled there after various nasty deeds. Over to the left  of the picture is Hartland. Often,  Hartland is a good surfing spot, with a lovely pub to settling in afterwards.
